Note to small retail businesses (in which Chi reveals her heartlessness)

Here’s an idea: if your business isn’t doing that well, it might be worth opening when your customers might be around to pop in. Like evenings. Or Sundays, when people might have free time for a mosy around the shops. Yes, it’s sad to see an independent business have to close. But if their competitors are open until 8 or 9 in the evenings some nights, I know which one I’m going to choose, and it’s not the little indie that closes at 6 (in spite of my love of indie shops), ‘cos I don’t generally get out of work until 5.30-5.45…

    • haha yeah, exactly. And bloody well be open when your customers want to get in. Two businesses have closed recently that I’m distinctly aware of that were never open when it might be convenient for customers. Makes me crazy…
